Author: Jen Calonita Book Colors: Purple, Blue, and Purple.
Book Genre: Fantasy Summaries: Flunked: Gillian Cobbler lives in a boot, and ever since the fairy godmother stole her father's prime design (the glass slipper), her family's shoe store is barely making ends meet. It's because of this Gilly swipes trinkets from royals and and steals food to help prevent herself, her parents, and her five siblings from starving. But when she gets caught, she is sentenced to three months at Fairy Tale Reform School, where all of the teachers are former villians, Like Headmistress Flora (Cinderella's evil stepmother), Professor Harlow (the Evil Queen), Madam Cleo (the Sea Witch), and Wolfington (the Big Bad Wolf). Charmed: After recently saving their school from being destroyed, Gilly Cobbler volunteers to stay at Fairy Tale Reform school for a little while longer. She may have saved her school, but this thief still has lots to learn...and a lot more left to do to stop evil. Alva, the witch who cursed Sleeping Beauty, is alive and is threatening to take over Enchanstia...and she's going to recruit the Reform School students to help her. For the sake of the school, Gilly decides to go undercover as a royal Lady-In-Waiting to see if she can unmask the mole. What she gets is a big surprise! Tricked: After being released from Fairy Tale Reform School, Gillian Cobbler's life is back to normal. Though she recives letters about how Rumpelstiltskin, the notorious trickster and deal-maker, has taken over FTRS, she is too busy with her regular life to worry much about it. She helps her father at the shoe store, and she also attends Jack of All Trades school, where she has to find her shoe style and learn the five types of popular leather. Once Gillian's sister Anna gets tossed into FTRS, it doesn't take long for Gilly find out that the only way to get Anna out is to make some serious trouble and get thrown back in into her old school. While in there, she and her friends have to figure out how to out trick the trickster without getting into trouble. Personal Review of Series: I really, really, really, REALLY though that this series was amazing. Gilly is funny, and her life is full, hilarious, and action-packed. Never once is there a dull moment when Gillian Cobbler is involved. I liked the first and third books, which was why I rated them purple. The second one wan't too bad, but for some reason I liked the first and third books more. Plus, the third book came out recently, so you can still get it while it's new! Recommendation: I would really recommend this book for people who like fantasy, action, and hilarious books. This has lots of magic in it too, so people who like those in books would like this book, too. This book will be read quickly if you are an avid reader, like it did in my case. So people who do buy this book may have to buy more than one. Click here for book one, click here for book two, and click here for book three!
