Book Genre: Dystopian Fantasy Summary: Mare Barrow is a thief and scoundrel, but for a good reason. She lives in a world that is divided in to classes by their blood: those with normal, Red blood are commoners who live in the Slums, live poorly, and are sometimes even servants for those of Silver blood, who are of a higher class and have superhuman abilities, like strength, mind-control, and metal-bending. Mare is invited (correction: forced) to work at the King's palace as a servant. But when she is thrown in a precarious situation in the middle of a big Silver event, she soon realizes she has a power of her own. The King, in order to hide this impossibility, forces Mare to play the role of a long-lost Silver princess and is bound to one of his sons. As she is drawn in deeper into the Silver world, she joins a rebel group called the Scarlet Guard, who's plan is to overthrow the Silver empire. But secrets can't be kept forever, and in the world of Red and Silver blood, Mare will have to figure out who she can trust before her secret is spilled to the entire world. Personal Review: This was a really great book. There were lots of suspenseful parts, and there is a very unexpected plot twist at the end. Once you read, you will not want to put it down. It is also a Truman Nominee, so that probably explains the reason why it is so good. Recommendation: I would recommend this book for people who like dystopian, fantasy, or action books. This would be a good book for middle school students to read, as it is a 2017-2018 Truman Nominee. I've been reading them lately so I can vote, so if you see more Nominee's on here, don't be surprised! :) Click here to buy this book via Amazon!

Book Genre: Realistic Fiction Summary: Charlie "Charlene" Dean is very, very fashion obsessed. Every day she assesses her outfit. She designs her own fashions. She even dreams of having her own company. So when she hears about the new theme for the Green Pastures Scholarship contest, she is more exited than ever before. Because the theme is fashion, and the grand prize is one free scholarship to get into Green Pastures, the design college of her dreams. John Thomas-Smith is a teenage boy who is more interested in metalworking, so he was disappointed when he saw the theme for the Green Pastures Scholarship contest. But, seeing this as an opportunity to get a free scholarship, he signs up, too. Now, with everything at stake, the competition gets tense. Like every other contest, there can only be one winner. Who will win? Personal Review: I liked this book a lot. Though it includes some crude language (from John's side, mainly), the final products that Charlie and John come up with are incredible. They are, hands down, pieces of art. I've sewed stuff before, but I don't know if anything I have ever made was worthy of the work the characters did at the end. This is definitely a must-read for all (mature) readers! Recommendation: I would recommend this book for people who like realistic fiction, who like fashion, and people who are mature readers. Some of the stuff John says is inappropriate for the budding reader. Other than that, this book can be open to pretty much anyone! Click here for an Amazon review and a chance to buy this book! Book Genre: Realistic Fiction Summary: When Kevin Boland is diagnosed with mono, it's no more baseball for him until he gets strong enough to play again. While in bed, he steals his dad's poetry book and tries his hand at writing his own poetry. Before he knows it, he is writing sonnets, haikus, and other types of poems like crazy. He even gets a girlfriend because of their similar likes of poetry. Once he is well enough to play baseball again, he figures out that he likes poetry more than baseball. What will his friends think? Personal Review: I'm not that big of a baseball fan. I mean, sure, I love watching the game, but some things just don't exactly click for me. My sibling would understand more about what some of the terms in this book mean than me! I liked when he started to write poem, when he got the girl, and when his baseball coach describes the St. Louis Cardinals Major-League Clubhouse. Overall, this was definitely a great book, and I want to read the second book (yes, there is a second book)! Recommendation: I would recommend this book for people who like to read poetry, who would like to learn how to write a poem (Kevin does learn a few useful tips on writing certain poems), and, of course, people who like baseball. Book Genre: Dystopian Fiction Summary: Sixteen-year-old Rowan is a second child, meaning she was illegally born based on the rules of Eden. If she was seen in the streets of Eden, she would be dead. Her unique eyes set her apart from the other citizens, whose surgically operated lenses mark them as official members of Eden. Her only safe haven is her home, where she has stayed all her life. Rowan wants to see more...to climb the fence and explore the world. Tired of being hidden, Rowan slips outside the fence and into the night for what she hopes is just one night of adventure. What she doesn't know is that her life is about to change forever. Personal Review: This book has so much to talk about! Well, to be honest...I feel that way about most books. I could have rated this Purple, but some parts of this books weren't that appealing to me. That is the one (and only!) reason that I rated this Blue. Other than that, this was a really great book and might even read the second book that will be released in October, 2017. Recommendation: I would recommend this book for people who like dystopian books, who like thrilling, adventurous books,, or who just want an excuse to do something good to the environment. Like, if you're going fishing and your mom asks "Why did you throw that fish back out into the lake? I thought we were going to eat it for dinner," you reply " Mom, if we take away from the Earth, we will pretty much die or live in a world like in the book 'Children of Eden'" or something along those lines. Book Genre: Realistic Fiction Summary: August "Auggie" Pullman isn't like most ordinary ten-year-old boys. Sure, he loves to play the Xbox and eat ice cream and hang out with friends like any normal kid, but the thing about Auggie is that he was born with a facial deformity. Because he's had about twenty-seven surgeries in his whole life to help fix parts of his face, he has never been to a real school and has been homeschooled by his mom. Then, his parents decide to enroll him into Beecher Prep for his fifth grade year. Now in a public school where even more people can see is extraordinary face, all Auggie wants to do is just fit in so he won't be picked on, talked about, or stared at as much. He makes friends with Summer and Jack and begins to open up and let people see that he is just an ordinary kid, just like them, though different his face may seem. Personal Review: This book was one of the most heartwarming books I've ever read. That's saying a lot coming from me! Even better, this story is told from different points of view. During one part, you might see the world through Auggie's eyes, the next you might see it through his friend Summer's. Whoever is talking, you'll always get a glimpse of what each person's life is like after they get to know Auggie. Recommendation: I would recommend this book for people who like realistic fiction, who want to know more about how facial deformity affects people, who want to read a very heartwarming story, and who like first-person/third-person omniscient books with different points of view. Auggie is a sweet character that pretty much all avid readers will love as a character. P.S: They are making a movie out of this, and it comes out in November. Book Genre: Realistic Fiction Summary: When Lucy Willows finds out that her father has a child from a different family, an eight year old boy named Thomas, Lucy's life changes completely (at least, from her perspective). She doesn't understand how her father could have kept a secret like that for most of his life from her. She also can't believe her mother could possibly have forgiven him for that action, or how her sister Julie doesn't seem hardly upset at all. Lucy then finds her way to Maine, where she hangs out with her grandfather. It's there that she learns more about her father than he would ever say, including the answers to all the secrets and truths that have laid beneath the surface the whole time. It's there that she learns that in order to fix a problem herself, she needs to face it head-on. Personal Review: This was a really good book. there were only a few small reasons why I rated it blue and not purple. 1) It had a little bit of abusive language that may not be appropriate for young readers. There weren't a lot of them, just a few, but I would still take caution. 2) It had a few sad parts (one part almost made me cry, which doesn't normally happen). And 3) This book also contained parts where the characters smoked pot or cigarettes. It would not not be a smart decision to give this book to a budding reader, unless he/she can handle it appropriately. But other than that, this was defiantly a book I would probably read again and again. A special thank you goes to a fellow book-lover who gave me this book to read. Thank you for thinking of me! Recommendation: I would recommend this book for people who can handle the parts mentioned in the list above, who like realistic fiction, and who would like to read a book written by the Andrew McCarthy (if you don't know who he is, I suggest you look him up.) Book Genre: Realistic Fiction Summary: At the Moon Shadow camp ground, three friends are brought together to watch an extraordinary event: a total solar eclipse happening right at their campsite! Ally, who is home-schooled and unsure of the outside world, has lived at the Moon Shadow all of her life. She works there with her parents, who knew that one day the eclipse would bring thousands to the campground. She has been preparing for this moment all of her life, but she never thought that she would have to move after the eclipse is over. Bree is the most popular and pretty girl at her school. But when she finds out that her family is moving to a campground, she is really upset. That's right, Bree is moving to the Moon Shadow campground, where her parents will take over it after the eclipse ends. Jack loves to draw art and read, but when he fails a science class, he has to go to summer school to make it up. When an opportunity to watch a total solar eclipse comes up, he takes it. However, he isn't prepared for the craziest adventure of his life once he is there. Together, these three unlikely friends bond together to watch an event that will change their perspective on space forever. Personal Review: I loved this book so much, I read it in less than a day. Seriously, LESS THAN A DAY. You know a book is good if you read all it in a few hours. Ally, Bree, and Jack all lead interesting lives. Plus, the author writes using alternate perspectives each chapter. The first chapter is from Ally's perspective, the second is from Bree's, the third is from Jack's, the fourth is from Ally's, and so on down the line. Recommendation: I would recommend this book for people who like realistic fiction, who like space, who like alternating viewpoints, and who like some sad, some happy, and some mixed-feeling parts. There are lots of those in there, too. Click here to buy this amazing book! Author: Lisa McMann Book Colors: Purple in all.
Book Genre: Fantasy Summaries: This is a series of books, so I'm not going to explain all of them. To make it simple, Alex and Aaron are twin brothers. When Alex becomes an Unwanted and Aaron becomes a Wanted, they are separated and Alex and a few others are taken to be killed. But they find themselves instead in a magical world known as Artime, lead by head mage, Mr. Today. It starts a chain of adventures, with loss, love, and battle in every book, every page, and in almost every chapter. They are really good books that almost every reader will enjoy! There is also a different island featured in every book, so just when you think there are no more islands for the Artimeans to discover, think again. Personal Review: This was a really good series. With love, loss, and battle in every book, this series is one that all avid readers will certainly devour! Alex is a really funny character with whom most teenagers can relate. While Aaron seems like a bad guy at first, you will be surprised in the changes in his behavior at the end. Recommendation: I would recommend this book for people who like dystopian/fantasy books, who like magic, adventure, battle, and who don't mind sad parts in any of these books. You can't go through one of these books without at least some form of loss or distress. Click here to buy the whole pack! Author: Jen Calonita Book Colors: Purple, Blue, and Purple.
Book Genre: Fantasy Summaries: Flunked: Gillian Cobbler lives in a boot, and ever since the fairy godmother stole her father's prime design (the glass slipper), her family's shoe store is barely making ends meet. It's because of this Gilly swipes trinkets from royals and and steals food to help prevent herself, her parents, and her five siblings from starving. But when she gets caught, she is sentenced to three months at Fairy Tale Reform School, where all of the teachers are former villians, Like Headmistress Flora (Cinderella's evil stepmother), Professor Harlow (the Evil Queen), Madam Cleo (the Sea Witch), and Wolfington (the Big Bad Wolf). Charmed: After recently saving their school from being destroyed, Gilly Cobbler volunteers to stay at Fairy Tale Reform school for a little while longer. She may have saved her school, but this thief still has lots to learn...and a lot more left to do to stop evil. For the sake of the school, Gilly decides to go undercover as a royal Lady-In-Waiting to see if she can unmask the mole. What she gets is a big surprise! Tricked: After being released from Fairy Tale Reform School, Gillian Cobbler's life is back to normal. Though she recives letters about how Rumpelstiltskin, the notorious trickster and deal-maker, has taken over FTRS, she is too busy with her regular life to worry much about it. She helps her father at the shoe store, and she also attends Jack of All Trades school, where she has to find her shoe style and learn the five types of popular leather. Once Gillian's sister Anna gets tossed into FTRS, it doesn't take long for Gilly find out that the only way to get Anna out is to make some serious trouble and get thrown back in into her old school. While in there, she and her friends have to figure out how to out trick the trickster without getting into trouble. Personal Review of Series: I really, really, really, REALLY though that this series was amazing. Gilly is funny, and her life is full, hilarious, and action-packed. Never once is there a dull moment when Gillian Cobbler is involved. I liked the first and third books, which was why I rated them purple. The second one wan't too bad, but for some reason I liked the first and third books more. Plus, the third book came out recently, so you can still get it while it's new! Recommendation: I would really recommend this book for people who like fantasy, action, and hilarious books. This has lots of magic in it too, so people who like those in books would like this book, too. This book will be read quickly if you are an avid reader, like it did in my case. So people who do buy this book may have to buy more than one. Click here for book one, click here for book two, and click here for book three! Author: Jay Asher Book Color: Purple

The story gets even more interesting when Sierra realizes this might be her last year in California, and that means she may not ever see Caleb again. What will happen to Sierra if she has to live a life without Caleb? Personal Review: This, like the last book, was really great. It took a little bit longer to finish it, but it was a great read otherwise. This is a super sweet and funny book that almost all young readers will certainly enjoy reading! Recommendation: I recommend this book for readers who like fiction books with romance and sad parts tied into it. This also is a funny book too, so people who like that should read it as well.
