Author: James Rollins Book Color: Purple
Book Genre: Fantasy Summary: After what had happened in Calypsos, Jake and Kady try not to think about what their adventure had been like. But when they see a grakyl, an evil winged creature from Calypsos, mummified in a museum, they are suddenly whisked away into a strange land. But they see their friends from Calypsos, so they realize their magic bands must have connected them together and traveled them here. No sooner have they processed this when they are under attack...again. They soon become slaves of Princess Nefertiti, who thinks that they can fulfill the prophecy. Long ago, the land of Deshret was blocked from the outside world by the Great Wind, caused by the Howling Sphinx. The wind caused the city of Ankh Tawy to cruble, causing iut's citizens to flee. But the prophecy stated that the key to stopping the wind were the travelers that would manage to get through the Great Wind from the outside world. Not only does this happen, but Jake realizes that what Kalverum Rex, the Skull King, wants is the Key of Time. For the Key has powers beyond Jake's imagination, including powers over the Great Wind. With the Key, he could try to change the past, present, and the future. And it's up to Jake, Kady, and their's friends to stop Kalverum Rex from controlling time. But what Jake learns about the Key of Time will probably be the most shocking thing he will ever hear. Personal Review: I really loved this book a lot. It was great! The first book was really good, so I was expecting for this book to be just as action packed and magical as the first one was. And I was right! This was pretty packed full of all this stuff. There are some pretty shocking parts, and I would read it if you want to find out how it ends. Recommendation: I recommend this book for people who liked the first book, who like magic and crystals, who like action and adventure books, who know Egyptian mythology, and who wanted to know how the series ended. If the first book left you wanting more click here for the second book.
