Author: Esther Friesner Book Color: Purple
Book Genre: Mythology (Greek) Recommended By: Angie Weigers Summary: Helen is your average Spartan princess. She has the beautiful looks, and she loves Aphrodite. But she wants more out of life than just being a princess in a castle. So when her sister begs with her to travel with her to a land far from Sparta, she takes this as an opportunity to explore the world and get her heart's true desire. And as she goes deeper into her adventure, she decides to take a journey that could be risky and lethal. But with her Spartan skills, bold heart, and, yes, her queenly title, anything is possible for this brave Spartan princess, today now known as Helen of Troy. Personal Review: I simply devoured this book, being the big Greek mythology fan I am (if you saw my previous books, you know that me loving Percy Jackson is an understatement). This book not only tells history, but it is also an excellent novel for mythology fans and a great book for Greek learners. Recommendation: I recommend this book for Greek beginners, Greek experts, for people who like to read history books (unless someone tells you, you might think this was fictional!), or for people who would like to learn more about Helen of Troy.
