Author: Wendelin Van Draanen Book Color: Purple
Book Genre: Realistic Fiction Summary: Running is not only Jessica's hobby, it's her destiny. So when a freak car accident makes her lose one of her legs, her destiny becomes a dream, a memory, and she knows she'll never run again. And later during school, people act strange around her, like they don't want to be with her or they don't know what to say. Jessica soon realizes that she has acted the same way to her new math tutor, Rosa, a girl with CP who has spent almost her whole life in a wheelchair. When the track team decides to help Jessica get a prosthetic metal running leg to help her run again, Jessica is surprised, and ready to do it. But she doesn't want to run alone...she wants Rosa to go with her. Personal Review: I loved the book. And I mean, LOVED the book. I couldn't put it down because it's one of those books that have the feeling of What is going to happen next?. I love books with that sort of action and excitement at the flip of every page. Touching parts mixed in perfectly with they joyful, happier ones, making this book one of the best I've ever read. Recommendation: I recommend this book for people who like realistic fiction, books with sports, books about people with disabilities, or books with lots of action. Want the book? Click here.
