Author: Joelle Charbonneau Book Color: Blue
Book Genre: Dystopian Literature Summary: America is now mostly destroyed. To rebuild it, many talented people partake in the Testing, where only the best of the best go to a University to learn with others on how to rebuild the cities. So when sixteen-year-old Malencia "Cia" Vale is selected for the Testing along with three others in her colony Five Lakes, her father warns her of the dangers that linger in the Testing and gives her three simple words on her departure: Trust no one. Then she met Tomas, the clever, charming, smart, and handsome boy of her dreams from her colony who could surely be trusted as her partner. But when the Testing gets dangerous, and friends become foes and foes become friends, Cia starts to wonder who she really can trust, if she'll survive, and how she'll pass the test of her life. Personal Review: I liked the book. It was very suspenseful. I almost felt like I was actually taking the Testing alongside Cia and was experiencing every moment with her. Some parts were confusing to follow, but overall it was a great story. It was a perfect example of dystopian literature! Recommendation: I would recommend this for people who like dystopian literature, who like suspenseful books, and who can handle a little blood. Warning: Some parts have a gross factor to them. If you can't handle the sight of seeing (or reading about!) blood, this book is not for you. Do you want to buy the book? Click here.
