Author: Kate Saunders Book Color: Purple
Book Genre: Fantasy/Realistic Fiction Summary: Lilly and Oz Spoffard have recently just moved into a house with a permanently closed chocolate shop up front. The shop had belonged to their great-great uncles, Pierre, Marcel, and Isadore, who were famous chocolate makers. But they were most known for making magic chocolate, chocolates that could make a person fall in love, or cure sickness. But the twins weren't to know that. What a surprise for them when they found out that a talking immortal cat lives in their household! The cat, named Demerara, explains that she got he powers of talking and immortality by one of the Spoffard brother's experiments. And she also explains that the twins have magic in their bloodline that runs through only part of the family. But not all of the family is nice, as they learn the hard way. One of their uncles is alive as a result of an immortality spell, and he is after the magical golden chocolate molds that belonged to his two brothers. If he gets his hands on the rest of the chocolate molds, he can use the recipe that ties with it to help an evil gang take over the world! It's up to Lilly, Oz, Demerara, Spike the rat, and their friend named Caydon to stop their evil uncle from abusing the magical Spoffard family heritage. Personal Review: I loved this book SO much! I have always dreamed about being a pastry chef when I grow up, so this book seemed right up my ally. Plus, it incorporated magic with it too. Demerara is a spoiled brat, Recommendation: Interested in purchasing this book? Click here.
